Combining Cards

Once you have multiple copies of an Immortal or Equipment card you can combine them in the Forge to create a higher level card. Combining cards also requires CREED for Immortal cards or CRAFT for Equipment cards. Higher level cards have increased stats and additional modifiers and abilities. All cards and CREED or CRAFT tokens used are destroyed in the act of creating the new card.
The level of a card is displayed on the colored banner in the top left corner of the card graphic. Cards start at Level 1 for standard foil cards and Level 2 for Gold foil cards. All cards can be combined up to the maximum of Level 10, shown as a star over the rarity banner.
The cost to create a higher level card from a set of lower level cards is based on the card's rarity and foil type. Higher rarity cards and gold foil cards require fewer to combine. The table below shows the cost in Level 1 cards needed to create a higher level version of the card.
Regular Foil Card Combining Cost by Level and Rarity
Gold foil cards start at Level 2, and can only be combined with other Gold cards. Below are the number of Level 2 Gold foil cards needed to combine to make a higher level Gold card.
Gold Foil Card Combining Cost by Level and Rarity
The set of cards used to combine into a higher level card can be of any level, but must all have the same foil type. A card created by combining other cards retains the combined value of all lower level cards used. This is known as the card's Combined Card Count (CCC). The total Combined Card Count value of the cards used determines the level of the created card. Any excess over the initial cost to reach a certain level is retained with the card, stored in its Combined Card Count.
In addition to the cards used for combining, CREED or CRAFT is required to create a new card (CREED for Immortals, CRAFT for Equipment). The cost in CREED or CRAFT is based on the level increase needed to get from the highest level card you're combining to the newly created card (see below). The rarity and foil of the card does not affect the number of CREED or CRAFT needed.
CREED/CRAFT Cost by Level Increase
The cost in CREED or CRAFT by Level increase is cumulative, so if you are increasing by multiple levels at once, add the costs of all Level increases to get the total cost to create the new card.
Example 1
3 standard foil Rare Level 1 Warcaller Immortal cards are combined in the forge. This produces a single Level 2 Warcaller Immortal card with a Combined Card Count of 3 and requires 1 CREED.
Example 2
A standard foil Common Level 5 Iron Dagger Equipment card with a Combined Card Count of 25 is combined with 60 Level 1 Iron Dagger cards. This will create a Level 8 Iron Dagger card with a Combined Card Count of 85 and requires 10 CRAFT (Level 5 to 6 costs 3 CRAFT, 6 to 7 costs 3 CRAFT, 7 to 8 costs 4 CRAFT = 10 CRAFT total).
