# How to Play

Select the **Play a Ranked Match** button on the Play screen to search for a worthy opponent. You will enter a matchmaking queue where a suitable player or non-player character (NPC) opponent will be found. Once you are matched you will have 45 seconds to enter the match and select an Immortal to send to battle.

A match is a ranked battle between two Immortals and their selected Equipment cards. A match is played automatically, with the outcome viewable immediately or later as a replay.

**Practice** matches allow you to test your skills against an opponent without affecting your Rank.
